II Astana Economic Forum
According to the initiativeof Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, “Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists” Association (EECSA) was established to unite leading scientific organizations from 9 countries of the Eurasian area.
The First Astana Economic Forum with participation of the leading scholars in economics, politicians and businessmen from 45 countries was held on the 27 th of June 2008. We invite you to take part in the Second Astana Economic Forum “Economic Security in Eurasia in the System of Global Risks” which will be held on March 11-12, 2009 in Astana, Kazakhstan, Palace of Independence. Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan will take part in the Forum. It is expected participation of Karim Massimov, Prime-Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, President of Islamic Development Bank, winners of Nobel Prize in Economics Prof. Edmund S. Phelps and Prof. Robert Mundell, Jean Lemierre, Advisor to the Chairman BNP PARIBAS, and Zhao Xiaoyu,Vice-President of the Asian Development Bank. Within the Second Astana Economic Forum following panel discussions will be held: 1) World economic crisis and its impact on economic security of countries 2) Public-private partnership development 3) Entrepreneurship development under conditions of global risks 4) Islamic economy development under conditions of globalization 5) Regional economic cooperation 6) Public management of economy under conditions of global challenges 7) Institutional aspects of global technologic and innovation changes (in the format of the roundtable “The 5th Drucker’s Readings”) The Forum begins on March 11, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. in Palace of Independence, Astana, Kazakhstan. The end of the last year and beginning of the current 2009 year are marked with series of international summit meetings with a view to develop regulation measures against the global economic crisis. There are G-20 Summit (Washington, the USA, the 15th of November, 2008), Forum of Asia and Europe countries, Colloquium on “New World, New Capitalism” (Paris, France the 8-9th of January, 2009), and the World Economic Forum (Davos, Switzerland, the 28th of January – the 1th of February, 2009).
Preparation for the III Astana Economic Forum is to be continued in JSC “Economic Research Institute”, which is the Executive body of Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists.
However, work of the Forum has already started in the framework of the Internet-Forum at the web-site www.economyclub.info, which is held to unite the efforts of scientists, economists and practitioners to develop a post-crisis model of economic development in conditions of globalization.
